Kriss Boyd has fired a jokey barb at Celtic’s failure to reach the next round of the Europa League.

The Hoops will remain in continental competition after Christmas but will face off against an opponent in the Conference League after a 3-2 defeat to Leverkusen sealed their fate with a game to go.

And Boyd wasn’t about to let Hoops fans forget it as he reported on Rangers 2-0 win over Sparta Prague – a result that puts them through to the next stage alongside Lyon who have topped Group A.

Boyd said: “I’ve heard there’s a few Celtic fans wondering I’ve been in the last few days.

“They don’t need to worry because I will definitely be here speaking about Rangers in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

"As we know after tonight, that’s not for everyone!”
