The Clyde Auditorium was the venue once again for the Rangers Annual General Meeting where the club's shareholders get the chance to grill the board about the events of the last year.

Given the club finally won title number 56, it was always likely to be a fairly cordial affair and so it proved.

Robertson on plugged £7.5m funding gap

Rangers' managing director Stewart Robertson has explained the club have ALREADY filled a £7.5m funding gap for this season.

The club revealed they needed the cash to meet the costs of the season as the club's wealthy fan owners continue to dig deep.

They have already covered a £23.5m loss from last season's Covid afflicted term.

Goldson contract update

Rangers' sporting director Ross Wilson has provided an update on player contracts at today's AGM.

It comes amid uncertainty over the future of central defender Connor Goldson.

The English defender has been linked with a return south but he has come out and said that he would like to stay at Ibrox beyond this season.

Wilson insists the Scottish champions are "relaxed" on currently player contracts and he detailed that the squad has been split into three groups.

Rangers open up on SPFL frustrations

Stewart Robertson insists Rangers will continue to strive for further off-field growth with or without the assistance of the SPFL in the coming years.

The Ibrox managing director has been a vocal critic of the way the game is run at Hampden and he accused the League of underselling Scottish football earlier this year.

Rangers became embroiled in a legal battle with the SPFL over the cinch sponsorship deal at the start of the campaign and remain unhappy with the way the game is governed at the National Stadium.

Bennett explains loan terms

John Bennett insists potential lenders can't match the terms granted by Rangers' band of benefactors after revealing the champions had received a handful of loan offers from potential outside investors.

The Ibrox deputy chairman was speaking at the RIFC plc Annual General Meeting on Tuesday as shareholders gathered in person once again after a virtual event last year.

Rangers reported an operating loss of £23.5million for the financial year to June 30, 2020 as the cost of the Covid pandemic hit hard despite their on-field success and 55th Premiership crown.

Rangers do not need to sell players

Stewart Robertson insists Rangers do not need to sell any of their players as he revealed the Ibrox club are "close to financial stability".

The managing director was speaking at today's AGM and he backed up quotes made by sporting director Ross Wilson last week.

Wilson told the media that new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst will not be forced into selling stars as he outlined the club's player trading model going forward.

Robertson today said: "We don’t need to sell a player despite what you read in the press. We are close to financial stability."

Robertson admits improvements will come for disabled fans

Stewart Robertson has vowed Rangers will improve the matchday experience for disabled supporters after admitting the champions 'haven't covered themselves in glory' over some Ibrox facilities recently.

The Light Blues managing director was quizzed by fans at Rangers' Annual General Meeting on Tuesday morning.

The issue of access and viewing arrangements for wheelchair users and other disabled supporters was a key point of business at the shareholder summit.

Voting results

Club 1872 have revealed their poll results on resolutions ahead of today's Rangers AGM.

The fan organisation will vote in favour of all eight resolutions at today's AGM, which is being held at the Clyde Auditorium. 

A statement read: "All the shares held by Club 1872 Shares CIC and Club 1872 Projects CIC will now be voted in accordance with contributors' wishes.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our contributors for their ongoing support."
