Rangers won €2.8million in prize money by defeating Braga to reach the Europa League semi-finals last night but the financial rewards don't end there.

The Ibrox club have already raked in €3m after defeating Dortmund and Red Star on top of the millions gained in the group stages.

And that's not taking into account gate receipts which are well in excess of £1m per game, sponsorship and TV money.

They face RB Leipzig up next and while the Bundesliga side are packed with talent, Rangers have already dispatched a better side in Dortmund from the competition.

Domenico Tedesco's team sit fourth in the German top flight, nine points behind Rangers' already vanquished foe who are second.

Defeating Leipzig will be a tall order but reach Seville and suddenly the rewards begin to rack up quite significantly.

€4.6m is rewarded to each finalist just for making it to the showpiece game.

To the winner goes the glory - and another €8.6m.

But the financial joy doesn't end with merely lifting the trophy.

The winner of the Europa League also gets a direct spot in the group stages of the Champions League, which now pays out a mind-boggling €15.6m.

And as if that's not enough, there's another not insignificant boost.

The holders will also take part in a one-off glamour game in the European Super Cup against the Champions League winners.

That's an automatic €3.5m for just taking part in the match with a further €1m to the winner.

It means that as well as having the chance to win a European trophy and the opportunity to become immortal, Rangers players could also bring in a jaw-dropping minimum of €27.74m from winning ONE game.

While an astonishing amount, it would still be a fair bit behind the richest game on the planet, the English Championship Play-Off final, which is valued all in at around £135m to the winner due to the size of the Premier League's TV deal.

However, if Rangers were to go all the way, it would be a genuine club changing event given the size of the bounty now in play from prize money alone.
