Jon McLaughlin: Could do nothing about Peter Haring’s opener and made another intervention with his leg that looked to stop a goal. Composed in possession, even when under pressure. 7

Adam Devine: Took his chance. Used the ball well and got up the pitch to provide width on the right, while also coming inside at the correct moments, leading to Rangers’ second goal of the day. His physicality could see him become James Tavernier’s understudy next season. 7

Leon Balogun: Guilty of letting Barrie McKay run through unopposed in the first half, aside from that mistake the big defender marshalled the back four well in the absence of Connor Goldson. A few customary dribbles helped move the team forwards. 7

James Sands: Was winning the battle up against Ellis Simms until the opener. That one moment shouldn’t overshadow his impressive reading of the game, allowing the American to intercept a number of through balls. Also used the ball well alongside Balogun. 7

Leon King: Started at left-back, where he ended last weekend’s match against Dundee United. Made a very important recovery run to take the ball out of McKay’s path after the ex-Rangers bore down on goal. An encouraging sign that the young defender is so comfortable playing out of position. 7

Steven Davis: Captaining the side on what could realistically be his final start for Rangers, the 37-year-old produced his usual controlling performance. May well play a part in one of the two upcoming cup finals. If this was to be his final showing in the Premiership, what a fantastic servant he has been. 7

Aaron Ramsey: Sped up the game at the right moments, notably to play in Alex Lowry for the visitor’s second goal. Dribbled with the ball comfortably and seems to be growing in sharpness. Unlikely he will play a role from the start on Wednesday. But don’t discount Ramsey having his say at some point. 7

Scott Arfield: Dropped relatively deep in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch and offered his usual energetic output. Will be involved in Spain undoubtedly, even if from the bench Arfield’s experience and versatility could be useful. 6

Amad Diallo: Bright in moments, even if his decision making occasionally let him down. The winger had a couple of efforts that went close and looked threatening when one-v-one. Not the loan deal that was envisioned by either party, but Amad has shown signs of adaptation in recent weeks. 6

Cedric Itten: Has been completely out of the picture since returning from his loan stint in Germany. Today’s performance in Edinburgh will give Itten happy last memories if indeed this was his final appearance in blue. Held the ball up well, took his goal like a forward full of confidence and competed physically. 8

Alex Lowry: Very impressive once again. Lowry’s goal epitomised his performance, intelligent, skilful and unstoppable. The 18-year-old is arguably Rangers’ most exciting youngster since Barry Ferguson and plays with the authority to justify that claim. Must be heavily involved next season. 8

Substitutes

Charlie McCann: Unfortunate to not get on the scoresheet having broken through on goal. Always looked forward and used the ball well. 6

Jack Simpson: Helped to secure all three points. 5

Ross McCausland: Unlucky to not be played in by Lowry as he bore down on goal, crossed brilliantly for McKinnon's strike. 6

Cole McKinnon: Got around the pitch well and looked composed before finishing superbly to add a third. 7

Tony Weston: Added some pace on the left-wing. 5
