RANGERS play host to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven this evening as the pair meet in the first leg of their Champions League playoff.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men go into the game in good form having won their last three games, scoring nine goals and not conceding.

But just how will the Light Blues line up at Ibrox?

It’ll be interesting to discover how Rangers approach this match given the first leg is at home. Jon McLaughlin should continue between the sticks while the back four may see James Sands replace Ben Davies to partner Connor Goldson given his ball distribution is probably just a tad better than the summer signing from Liverpool.

In midfield, John Lundstram is a certain starter but who starts alongside him is up for debate. Personally, I reckon Steven Davis may be a better option than Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara but either or could form that defensive midfield partnership.

The return of Ryan Kent is huge and he’ll start in his usual left wing position with Malik Tillman in the middle and potentially Scott Wright occupying the right-hand side given his level of discipline in these games.

Antonio Colak should still lead the line given he’s in a rich vein of form with Alfredo Morelos likely to feature from the bench.

Rangers: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Sands, Barisic, Lundstram, Davis, Tillman, Wright, Kent, Colak.

Jon McLaughlin is likely to retain his place between the sticks and he will surely be buoyed after keeping his third clean sheet on the spin in the victory over St. Johnstone at the weekend.

Tavernier and Goldson are ever-presents in the Rangers backline, while Barisic is likely to retain his place as Ridvan Yilmaz adjusts to life in Glasgow. Expect van Bronckhorst to turn to James Sands in defence with the American more attuned than Ben Davies to the Dutchman's demands without the ball in Europe.

Ryan Jack impressed at the weekend and he should partner Lundstram in midfield, with both capable of dropping into the backline to give PSV a different look during the build-up. Jack, especially, could be key in preventing the Dutch side from trapping Rangers on the touchline.

Further forward, van Bronckhorst had success twinning Tillman with Tavernier on the right against Union seven days ago, while Ryan Kent will be given the nod on the left with Tom Lawrence operating as the most advanced central midfielder.

Upfront, there must be a temptation to start with Alfredo Morelos, but Antonio Colak certainly isn't lacking for confidence after three goals in his last three starts.

Rangers: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Sands, Barisic, Lundstram, Jack, Tillman, Lawrence, Kent, Colak.

Van Bronckhorst has a big squad to choose from tonight, but don’t expect the starting XI to differ all that much from last week’s win over Union.

McLaughlin will retain his place at No.1, likely behind a back four comprising of Tavernier, Goldson, Sands and Barisic. Although Davies played against St Johnstone, one start is unlikely to be enough preparation to play a Champions League qualifier.

Lundstram will likely be paired with Jack in the middle, behind an attacking trio of Tillman, Lawrence and Kent. The latter two were kept fresh for this tie at the weekend while Tillman won the game last time out in Europe.

Colak will surely resume his spot at No.9 with Morelos still building up fitness. Nonetheless, the Colombian could make a difference from the bench.

Rangers: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Sands, Barisic, Jack, Lundstram, Tillman, Lawrence, Kent, Colak.
