How important does it feel to get a result this weekend?

It’s a big game tomorrow. Off the back of recent results and in particular, last Saturday but the fixtures come thick and fast, it’s a good chance to get back out there and turn things around.

You’ve been booed off in two matches, do you need to react?

Yeah we’re aware of it, we hear it and have got no complaints. We don’t think the performances have been good enough lately but like I say we have the chance tomorrow to put it right and get back on the winning trail.

Do you sense this group are desperate to put things right?

Yeah, we’ve had a busy week with Europe but back in today and focused on the game. We know it will be a tough test but I think that will help us with our performance. We will take it to them and we know things need to be better. As I say we have a chance tomorrow.

How difficult is it to get up after European results?

We’ve tried to separate the two. We were obviously disappointed last Saturday to not win but Europe is a different competition. We’re focused on the league, trying to recover from last Saturday.

Does Europe not impact confidence at all?

I wouldn’t say so. Personally, I’m playing with confidence now I’ve got my foot in the door I want to stay in the team. You need to play with confidence especially at home because the expectation is big and we need big players to step up to it.

What’s the morale like in the camp?

It’s fine but obviously, it could be better. Winning helps that but we’ve got winners in the dressing room, we’re sticking together and ready for tomorrow.

Rangers Review:

Do you need a perfect run to stem the tide before the World Cup?

I think we are still early in the season. There’s a long way to go, loads of games. Once the break comes it will help us by getting some bodies back and then we will attack the rest of the season from there.

How do the players feel when the manager comes under pressure?

We look at ourselves. We’re the ones that go out on the pitch and if you look at our team, we would all say performances haven’t been there from individuals so I think we take responsibility and get the chance to put things right.

Do you have a duty to do that for the manager and show you’re fully behind him?

Definitely. We’re looking to pick up results for him, ourselves and the support. We’re aware it’s an intense period but we’re looking forward to it. Personally, I’m relishing the challenge and looking forward to getting out there tomorrow.

What can you do to tighten up at the back?

The quality in Europe is a lot higher. As a defender, we don’t like to concede. I don’t feel like we’ve been giving a lot of chances away but I think going forward we need to create more, punish teams and finish them off.

Is there a fear before games you won’t win?

Not personally, no. My confidence is high and I believe in the team and squad. With the support at home they can carry us through but we need to give them things to go after and positive things to see on the pitch.

Is it all down to basic errors at the moment?

I think collectively we need to work together and stick together. Individual errors can happen but I feel we need to kill teams off, take our chances and create more.

How impressed have you been with Leon King?

He’s got the right attitude and presence about him. It seems like nothing fazes him. He takes everything in his stride. I feel like he’s done really well because for a player of his age to play in that position in some of the games he’s played in, a lot of players would’ve shrunk. But I think he’s really stood up to it and relished it.

Could he move to the Premier League?

That’s to be expected when you’re that young and playing in the Champions League and for Rangers. He has his feet on the floor and has tunnel vision for each game.
