Aberdeen are the visitors to Ibrox on Sunday as Rangers kick off the first of the five remaining Premiership fixtures.

Given last week’s Scottish Cup semi-final disappointment, Michael Beale’s men have nothing to play for but pride.

The Rangers manager says there will be opportunities for some of those who’ve had to be patient in recent weeks to start.

With that in mind, what changes are we likely to see?

Michael Beale says he will be picking his strongest team to face Barry Robson’s men but with injuries to a number of first-team players we should expect a raft of changes.

Starting in goal, there is no reason to play Allan McGregor. He should be given the chance to say goodbye to the fans in his last competitive home fixture when Hearts visit Ibrox but aside from that, it’s time for Robby McCrorie to show what he’s made of.

Borna Barisic will drop out due to injury so Ridvan Yilmaz will get a rare start with the rest of the back four probably remaining the same.

Midfield will be interesting, Nico Raskin and Todd Cantwell are two nailed-on starters you’d think but may we see a Ianis Hagi joining them? The Romanian is deserving of a start and Sunday represents an ideal opportunity for much-needed game time.

In the forward line, Ryan Kent will drop out with Rabbi Matondo likely given the chance to start on the left. It remains to be seen if Antonio Colak is fit to return, if the Croatian is still sidelined then there is no one who could take the place of Alfredo Morelos unless Zak Lovelace is promoted from the B team. Realistically, despite heading for the exit door, the Colombian may be the only option to lead the line. On the right, Scott Wright may be afforded an opportunity after Fashion Sakala’s nightmare of a display at Hampden last week.

Predicted line-up: McCrorie, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Ridvan, Raskin, Cantwell, Hagi, Wright, Matondo, Morelos.

While Beale might be keen to begin the revolution on Sunday and make sweeping, radical changes - he can't.

Realpolitik at Rangers dictates no Old Firm game is ever irrelevant and while there's nothing likely to be at stake in terms of tangible silverware, the losing run against their most bitter rivals can't continue without the manager coming under scrutiny.

It's not his team, it's unfair, but it's the reality of life in Glasgow. He ain't at a leafy West London Rangers anymore - this is the real deal.

Until that game at Ibrox against Celtic is done and dusted, the dressing room must be kept on side so I'd expect a combination of change and continuity.

Sadly, as Beale admitted to me yesterday, there aren't many youngsters who look ready so it would be a surprise to see anyone from the B Team get a look in.

Ridvan, Hagi and Matondo will surely get starts to show they have what it takes to be part of next season's rebuild.

Predicted line-up: McCrorie, Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Ridvan, Lundstram, Raskin, Cantwell, Hagi, Matondo, Colak.
