Sunday's Old Firm match saw 50,936 fans through the gates, the highest Ibrox crowd in 46 years.

The last time more people entered the Govan ground was for John Grieg's testimonial against Scotland in April 1978 when 65,000 attended. That was, of course, in the days of terracing and well before Ibrox was the plush, all-seater stadium it is today.

For a better-attended competitive game, you have to go back slightly further to the January of that year when Jock Wallace's men chalked up a 3-1 win over Celtic.

Increased crowds this season have been made possible by the addition of three additional rows at the back of the Sandy Jardine Rear which adds 352 Premium and 117 General Access spots.

And numbers will likely be smashed in the years to come with the further enhancements being made to the Broomloan and Copland Road stands behind each goal as new seating is added as part of works to improve Ibrox's disabled facilities this summer and next.

As part of the project, wheelchair spaces at the stadium will be increased to 270. An extra 700 general access seats will be added too.

When it's finished, the ground's capacity will rise to just over 51,500.
