Rangers goalkeeping coach Sal Bibbo is leaving the club a year after joining.

The Rangers Review understands that Bibbo, 51, will join newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City as part of Frank Lampard's backroom staff.

The former Arsenal coach moved to Ibrox last summer as part of Russell Martin's coaching team. He was reunited with former manager Danny Rohl, with the pair having worked at Sheffield Wednesday previously, when the German replaced Martin in the dugout in October.

New manager Derek McInnes has brought long-term assistants Paul Sheerin and Alan Archibald to Ibrox with him.

Craig Clark has also moved as part of McInnes' backroom staff - the former Kilmarnock coach was due to follow his former boss to Tynecastle this summer.

Meanwhile, Rangers will pay a fee of £3.8million to sign Ben Godfrey on a permanent basis if they activate their option clause next summer.

Godfrey was announced as the third arrival of the window at Ibrox on Monday morning as he completed a move from Atalanta. The defender has put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal and will wear the No.4 shirt as Derek McInnes gears up for the new campaign.

Rangers have an option to secure Godfrey's services on a long-term deal at the end of that initial loan. And the Rangers Review understands that fee will be less than £4million for a defender who moved for £25million when he joined Everton from Norwich City six years ago.

The stopper spent time on loan at Brøndby last term after previous stints at Ipswich Town and Sheffield United. He has made a limited impact in Serie A, but the England internationalist believes he is in the right place at the right time as he looks to make an impact for Rangers this term.

“At the age I am now, and with the experiences I have had, I think I can bring experience to the defence, and I believe that I have got quality that I can show," Godfrey told RangersTV.
