GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst spoke to Rangers TV following the 1-1 draw with Celtic at Parkhead. Here is everything he had to say.

What’s your feelings after that?

Of course, we’re disappointed with the draw. We knew we had to win here to close the gap to three points. That’s one feeling I have, the other feeling is that I’m really proud of our performance. I couldn’t ask more from my players to what they gave today. We pushed hard to try to win this. I think in the second half we came back into the game and we pushed hard in the last 15 minutes to win it with a lot of risks but I think the belief and the intentions were there. The chances we had were big chances but you have to score them. We had moments in this game where we could get more than one point.

Off the back of Thursday night, how proud were you with the efforts in the latter stages when you were the better team?

Again, we showed how strong we are physically and also mentally to come back after going 1-0 down to come back into the game and create good chances to win. I’m really happy with our performance and it’s the same we need on Thursday.

You’ve had good performances in recent weeks, that must give you confidence for Thursday night?

Yeah, it’s demanding weeks physically and also very demanding for every player and the whole staff but we keep on going. Thursday is a big night. We can reach the final in Seville which, of course, is what we want and that’s why we’ll work hard in the coming days to be well prepared.
