The loss of legendary kitman will be felt keenly at Ibrox for years to come, such was his immense impact on the club he adored.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst and James Tavernier faced the press today, clearly still reeling and emotional from the blow of losing the adored member of staff so suddenly.

There are football games to play, big ones, but that doesn't lessen the impact of such a cruel loss.

And while there is devastation at Jimmy's death, there will be hope that the widespread outpouring of love from legends, players and fans offer some comfort to those affected by his passing.

So many incredible stories have emerged in the last 24 hours, showing just how important a contribution the 69-year-old made to the Ibrox club over his 40 years in Govan.

And one that was doing the rounds that suggested Bell wouldn't wash the captain's armband if Rangers had won the previous game was confirmed by Tavernier.

He said: "That’s true with the captain's armband [he insisted if Rangers won that I wore it unwashed in the following game].

"Unless it got too dirty and we’d come to an agreement that I needed a new one.

"There are so many small details that will be strange without Jimmy there, but he had something with every player.

"Before every game, he’d put my armband on.

"It’s going to be strange but I’m more determined to do everything in my power to make him proud."
