Konrad Laimer admits his RB Leipzig side didn't defend well enough to proceed to the final of the Europa League after their 3-1 loss to Rangers.

The Austrian feels none of the Ibrox side's three goals - scored by James Tavernier, Glen Kamara and John Lundstram - weren't preventable.

And the decisive third from the Scouser, ten minutes from time was held up for particular ridicule by the midfielder.

He said: "None of the goals we conceded was one where you think, 'Wow, that's so great, you can't prevent it.'

"Offensively we had enough chances to score one or two other goals.

"After we got the goal back we had the game completely under control.

"You then get the goal from a free-kick from 40 yards to nowhere, cross to nowhere, rebound to nowhere, cross to nowhere again.

"If you want to go to an international final, it is it's not enough when you lose goals in situations like that.

"And if you don't get there by scoring enough, you don't deserve it."
