RANGERS Scottish Cup hero Ryan Jack spoke to Premier Sports after helping the Ibrox club triumph 2-0 over Hearts at Hampden.

Here is everything he had to say.

What does this moment mean to you?

I said it from the start, we tried to put in the work from day one to try to meet the demands of the club and the demand is to win trophies. We had a massive disappointment on Wednesday night and it was a wee bit flat to start with from us and from the support. It’s expected but we ground away and what a way to finish with me and Scott [Wright] getting the goals and getting over the line.

When you’re dreaming about making an impact in a final, it doesn’t get any better than what you managed to write today.

Yeah, I couldn’t have dreamt any better to be honest. Coming on and getting us ahead in the game and then Scotty goes and gets a great finish. I’m absolutely proud of the boys, the staff, the backroom staff and everyone who puts in hard work so we’re delighted and it’s for these fans to go and enjoy now.

Does it allow you to go into the summer holidays on the back of a positive result rather than the disappointment of Wednesday and come back fresh for next season?

Yes, that’s always the aim. We’ve always got to look to aim higher and go and win trophies. Today was just another opportunity, we’ve managed to take that and it gives us a chance in the off-season to refresh, charge up and go again next season.

James Tavernier said after Wednesday this was just the start of this team under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, do you echo those sentiments?

Yeah, that’s the way it is. Gio’s just recently come in, he’s been absolutely first class and hopefully with a pre-season under his belt and with us as players and as a staff, we can really come together and compete in every competition next year.
