RANGERS boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the trip to Easter Road to face Hibernian on Saturday lunchtime.

Here is everything the Dutchman had to say.

How much are you looking forward to the match against Hibernian?

I think it’s a very exciting game for us. An away ground and a team that makes it really hard for us to play, we’ve seen that in the past as well. It’s a good game for us and I’m looking forward to the game.

Given the game is sandwiched between two European games, does that bring it different issues in terms of utilising the squad?

No, I don’t think so. It’s a period we are used to, playing a lot of games with big games in the league between European games. We had it last season and now we have it the same. I think we have a good squad to cope with these games so we will be ready for tomorrow.

Do you have to make sure that you don’t make too many changes to keep that momentum going?

Is it, yeah? That's good. You're a coach as well?  No, obviously every game you play I think now because we play Tuesday and Wednesday, it gives you a little bit more time to prepare for the weekend. Of course, when you Thursday and Sunday it’s always two days in between. Now we have one day extra which gives us more rest for my players but you’re right, you always have to make sure you see how your team is doing physically and mentally and pick the 11 from that position.

Rangers Review:

There’s been a lot of changes at Hibernian over the summer, do you expect anything different from them?

Yeah, they have new players coming in, a new coach and a new style of play. We’ve seen the first games they played in the league so we have quite a good view on their style. We’re going to prepare as normal and make sure we are ready for everything they throw at us.

Your captain James Tavernier has just signed a new contract, how good is that?

It’s very pleasing, of course. We all see what he brings to the team. He’s played here for so many years and continues to play for us which I think is a good sign. He’s our captain and he leads by example so I’m really happy that he extended his contract.

Any development on the other ones you’re looking to tie down?

They’re still ongoing. No news yet in developments so we just have to wait and see if it’s eventually coming to new contracts.

Antonio Colak has four goals in four games, how pleased have you been at how he’s settled in and the way he’s performing?

I’m very pleased. Obviously, it’s a good start for him. I think he’s settled in really quick and well into his new teammates and at the club. He’s giving us important goals, you always want that from your strikers and he’s doing that so I’m really happy with his performances. All the new players have settled in really well and quick. They all attribute to the player we want to have so we just have to continue developing them and make sure their performances become stronger and stronger.

What does it do for competition now given there’s only that one place up front?

Of course, we have a squad now. We can pick so many players to start games, that’s the kind of competition you want. We have a lot of competition with different strengths and qualities up front. When the competition is high I think the level goes up as well. That’s what you want when you play for big teams and big clubs so I think we’ve achieved that with the squad we have this season.

Do you foresee more ins and outs before the end of the window?

It’s the transfer window, you’re never sure but we have to be prepared especially when you come into the latter stages of the window. Crazy things will happen, we’ve seen that everywhere and over the last windows as well so I think it’s more important to be prepared. So far, nothing is happening with ins and outs.
