RANGERS goalscorers John Lundstram and Malik Tillman spoke to Sky Sports following the 2-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

Here is everything they had to say.

How much was that win needed today?

JL: It was a big one. Before the game, we knew it was going to be a tough day for us. They are at home and they always put the pressure on so it was needed today. It was a proper performance and the way we had to dig deep, it wasn’t about being pretty, it was about getting the three points. It’s pleasing.

Did it get a bit nervy at the end?

JL: When you get the goal back off a cross-cum-shot, of course, it’s going to be. They’re going to put the pressure on and try to get the equaliser. It’s easy to play when you’re losing a game of football, it’s easier to put the pressure on and keep coming. It’s about when you’re in front and leading games, you need to try and be solid which I thought we were.

Malik, tell us about that goal you scored today?

MT: I think it was a pretty nice one. Obviously, it’s nice to help the team get the win. The team comes first always.

What does that do for your confidence, scoring a goal like that?

MT: The last few weeks were a bit tough. We didn’t win in the Champions League but I think it’s an extreme boost for me and I’ve got to keep looking forward and hope we win the next few games as well.

Has your confidence been dented over the last week or so and does this help today?

JL: It’s going to be, of course, it is when you come off the back of a defeat like we had midweek. I thought we were really good for 55-60 minutes even though it’s a side like Liverpool and we know what they can do to teams. To come off the end of a defeat like that, of course, the confidence is going to be low. There’s been a lot of talk about trying to bounce back and thankfully we did that.
