Everything Giovanni van Bronckhorst said on Sky after the game.

How did you assess the game?

Well, three points. It was vital for us to win the game. In the first half we started well and had two great chances to score the first goal. We didn't. After that, we weren't in the game as we wanted, the second half we did much better. We started brightly and scored two goals which will give you a cushion. 15 minutes before time they equalised with a free-kick. From that side and into the top corner, it happens maybe one time out of 30 or 40 tries. It went in and after that, we had to dig deep and really battle for the win. We did that and I'm really happy with the points today.

Did the character please you?

You have to give the Motherwell player the credit for the goal. It doesn't happen a lot these types of goals but once you concede a goal like that, you have to be ready because they were pushing for the equaliser. We defended well after that and didn't give any chances away so that's why I'm pleased with the three points.

What areas do you want to change and improve on?

In every area. The performance today wasn't as convincing as in previous games in the league. We need to improve that. In the build-ups in the first half, we couldn't come into the next phase because I think we were not quick or good enough in our build-up to get a free man in midfield. We were too slow in our passing and movement. Second half, we were much better and with Steven Davies coming on as an extra No.6 it helped us control the game. In the end, with the 2-1 we needed to change gears as well.
