Everything Light Blues midfielder Ianis Hagi had to say to Rangers TV after he extended his contract at Ibrox.

How does it feel to have signed this extension?

It is a happy day for me, especially considering the last year. It has been tough, a rollercoaster both mentally and physically, but with my future safe, and I have to be thankful to everyone around Rangers for helping me get to this point. I am also happy because of the work I have done previously before the injury. It meant a lot to Rangers and for them to consider that I am good player who can bring quality to the team. I am really happy that this day came.

How important has the support from the club been during your injury?

It has been fantastic. Mentally it has been a rollercoaster for me and I had every single person at Rangers supporting me during this period. Being here now and extending my contract is definitely a happy day for me. I just can't wait to get back on the pitch and get back to business.

What is it about Rangers and Glasgow that makes you feel settled here?

It is the mentality of the club. I have said that from the beginning. Throughout the three years that I have been here I have just fell in love with everything about the club. Everyday you wake up and know you have to win, which is a privilege and something I have been chasing since I was a kid. I feel it defines me as a person. I am just happy I am here.

How is your recovery going?

It is good. I am in my final stages right now. Things are just round the corner. I am just taking it day by day as I know it is really hard not to think about the final destination. It has almost been 11 months since my surgery and I have been patient until now. I have to be patient every day and listen to my physio and hopefully it is earlier rather than later.

How much do your memories of what you have achieved so far drive you forward?

The history of this club pushes you on the pitch to be a better player and person. In these three years I like to think I have left something behind me and gave the fans some good memories. However, I have still not did everything I want and I still have a lot to give to this amazing group of people at Rangers. I just can't wait to be back.

How excited are you for the future?

I am excited. I always like to plan my future but things can be unexpected in the long-term future. I like to plan it, but afterwards I just take it day by day. I am looking at tomorrow to see how I can get better as a player and as a person. What is my first step and what is my second step. We are in the middle of the season right now and we want to win trophies this season. So we are all focused on that right now and I want to get back as soon as possible in the team. I need to listen to my body, communicate and manage my future with the gaffer. Hopefully better things are ahead and we can end the season with trophies.
