Derek McInnes has declared himself committed to Hearts after speculation linking him to the Rangers job.
The former Ibrox midfielder is one of the many names touted to be Russell Martin's successor, with pundits including Kris Boyd suggesting he would be an obvious choice.
Steven Gerrard was the favourite last week but turned down the opportunity at the weekend and the Ibrx club must turn to other options.
Hearts had been reported to be comfortable about the situation and confident the head coach they appointed in the summer would be staying put. And the 54-year-old has now insisted he has a job he coveted for a long time and is happy where he is.
“I love it here”, he told STV. “It’s been a long time for me coming here. I always thought this was a job that I wanted to be at.
"I’m working with some good people, I mentioned a few there, the support from Graeme Jones and the board, but the players have been first class in terms of their efforts day in and day out, and, I think for us, we feel we can be successful here, we really do."
Asked if he is committed to the Tynecastle cause, he added: “Absolutely. I’m the Hearts manager. Normally, when managers are doing well, sometimes there can be speculation.
“Equally, when managers aren’t doing well, there can be speculation about their own job, but for us, at Hearts, we are just concentrating on our work.”
