Danny, your thoughts on the game?

A great start in the game, in these 20 minutes, we showed really what we want to do. In general, for over 90 minutes we played with them, it was a good game to watch with both teams trying something in possession and against the ball. After 20 minutes, I felt we were in a good way. 1-1, it happens against strong teams, we come one moment too late [in the press], it happens but I was disappointed with the goal we conceded at 2-1. It’s too easy, a 40 metre ball, a bit unlucky and in the end it's an own goal for 3-1. At set-plays, we know they are strong. In general, we played a strong, experienced side with good individual quality, well-coached, a good manager. But, compare this to Bergen, I see a massive, massive step forward. It’s still not good enough and I think this is what we have to improve in the future, especially in this competition, but when I see to go to Porto, be on the front foot, try something in possession, have a good net, travel and counterpress together, I think we come a little bit from this level to our level at the moment. The final pass or action, you have to be online but in general, I am still proud of the development in Europe; this is what we can work on. Raskin and Diomande did well - but do you need more additions in the middle of the pitch?

I think in general, I tried to have a load management for nearly every position, which is important for Sunday. On the No.6, we didn’t have Tochi to give us the extra push. Both [Nico and Diomande] did well, they covered a lot of metres. The good thing is Nico can go again and again. I think we have to look at the middle of the pitch on Sunday what is the best but I must say, we played on a good level. Look at the example of Manny, his first time in this environment, Nasser showed a lot. It’s hard to take the 3-1 as we want to take points but sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture and this is the right direction.

Findlay Curtis also did well - have you decided if he will go on loan?

In general, I want to praise Findlay for the last two weeks. Sometimes when you speak with a player and give him some examples… I think Findlay understood my words two and a half weeks ago when we spoke very honestly about how I see him. Since then, he has exactly the mindset. Today he was brave, also with nice possession. I must say, for 1-0, I liked this match because we were on the front foot, won the ball high up the pitch against a team who are not easy to press. We make a decision in the next couple of days [about Curtis] and we also need to look at the bigger picture, it’s about gametime. It doesn’t matter how we decide; he is on the right track.

Will Danilo leave this month?

At the moment, I can’t confirm. My full focus was on this game, but tomorrow I’ll be back and get updates on what I have to know. Let’s see. In the next hours and days, there may be some movement.

How do you look forward to the Hibs game?

For me, it’s now about Hibs. A completely different game to this against a team that will fight and be nasty. It’s a different challenge but we have to be ready for this. I see a team at the moment who really know what I want and this is fantastic. In general, we enjoy playing in Europe. I see it as a challenge for the new season as well. We want to do better and go into the knock-outs. But this season, now we can fully focus on 15 match days in the league four cup games. It helps us in two and a half weeks to have normal weeks. It will be the first time we can train and be fresh. We’ve done well with our rotation and everyone has played a big part. But in the next two and a half weeks, we have big, big games ahead. For this, we need everyone. Some players are coming back, some trained today. We go again on Saturday with full conviction to win the next game in the league.

Is no Europe a benefit in the title race?

You never know but I think it helps with our preparation. It’s a different way. But I’d be lying to say I’m happy to be out of Europe; it’s not true. You want to play in this competition and have nights like this in good stadiums. But I’m also looking forward to seeing what we can do in the league.
