Andy Halliday is predicting a summer transfer exit from Rangers for Bojan Miovski because Danny Rohl "clearly doesn't fancy him."

The Macedonian has become a bit part player at Ibrox after failing to live up to expectations following his summer move from Girona, and didn't make it off the bench in either of the recent derbies against Celtic despite Rangers needing a goal.

Miovski started the season as Russell Martin's preferred striker ahead of Youssef Chermiti, although neither was firing on all cylinders. Chermiti has improved under Rohl and is now starting most games, while the former Aberdeen man is appearing less and less.

He has four league goals this season, ten overall, but there was nevertheless a bit of surprise he wasn't introdued at any point against Celtic to try and find the breakthrough.

But Halliday insists he wasn't one who was shocked - because Miovski simply hasn't delivered when he has played.

He told BBC Scotland: "Based on what I've seen of Rangers this season, I’m going to say no. I think Bojan Miovski’s not performed at the relevant level for me to be starting him for Rangers. That being said, I think if there is times that he’s going to be played, I think it is when it’s against teams that’s basically played in your half and you’re putting balls in the box and you’re hoping for that finisher, that finishing touch to get on the end of things.

"Last weekend, I think Chermiti's race was run. I thought he looked dead on his feet. In the bit of extra time, you'd expect a change in that area of the pitch to be made. But I think the recent weeks will tell you, I just think it’s quite clear that Danny Rohl doesn’t fancy Bojan Miovski. So I think when it comes to this summer, that he’s one of the players that you’d expect to move on."

Halliday admits it's a concern that Rangers have spent good money on Miovski, Chermiti and Ryan Naderi but still haven't fully solved their striking issues.

He added: "It’s been such a problematic area of the pitch for Rangers all season long. And the worrying factor is they’ve spent so much money in that area to try and rectify it. Miovski came in for a decent fee. Ryan Naderi has been signed in January for £5 million, Youseff Chermiti was signed for £8m pounds. So you’ve got three strikers that have been signed this season to try and fire them to goals.

"Chermiti has got nine, which at this stage of the season for me for a Rangers striker is not a great return. Naderi's only got 2, which both came against Queen's Park in the cup. Bojan Miovski’s not scored enough either. I think as well the big chunk of his goals have come against Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup. So I don’t really think many or any have staked their claim to be regulars week in week out.

"But I think on the basis of big game performances, Youssef Chermiti has quite rightly been the one to lead the line."
