Danilo has returned to Rangers, with NEC Nijmegen opting against turning his loan deal into a permanent move after the Brazilian striker scored just one goal in six months.
The striker joined the Dutch club at the end of the last transfer window after falling out of the first team picture at Rangers under former manager Danny Rohl.
NEC had an option to buy the 27-year-old for a £4 million fee.
But they have now officially declined to exercise the purchase option and the 27-year-old has returned to Rangers, where he still has two years of his deal left.

Danilo managed just one goal in his loan spell - against Feyenoord - and only started one league game in the Eredivisie. He came off the bench on ten occasions.
NEC even sold star striker Youssef El Kachati to Stade Reims, but still decided not to go through with the transfer of Danilo.
Danilo cost Rangers £6 million three years ago and has scored 12 league goals for the club.
He's the second loan flop to return to Rangers this week after Toronto FC sent Jose Cifuentes back to Glasgow following an unsuccessful spell in Canada.
