Steven Clifford is one of the most prominent, influencial and consistently interesting voices to emerge from the fan media in recent years with his Four Lads Had A Dream blog.

He will write a must-read column every Friday for The Rangers Review.

Here, we ask him ten burning questions about his life following the Teddy Bears.

How did your Rangers journey begin? Like many, were you born into supporting the club?

I’ve been a Rangers fan for as long as my memory serves me. My whole family were Rangers fans, including my Uncles and Grandparents.

My earliest memories always seem to surround Ally McCoist and being heavily starstruck whenever he was mentioned. I wrote to him as a 5 year old and got a lovely signed picture back, From that moment I was hooked.

What was your first Rangers game?

Airdrie 1 Rangers 2. Scottish Cup Final 1992. Hateley & McCoist scored.

Who was the Rangers player you loved growing up?

Ally McCoist. I was fortunate because as I got into it the Souness revolution merged into the Smith Era and it was a fantastic time to support the club with some real Heroes in the team.

But as above, there was only ever one super Ally

Where's your seat at Ibrox and what makes the ground so special?

I sit in the Sandy Jardine Front and have done for best part of 15 seasons, having previously sat in the East Enclosure.

I met my wife in my current seat, love at first sight or something….

It can't all be easy questions. Laudrup or Gazza?

Gascoigne but it’s really Laudrup.

Rangers Review: Brian Laudrup was world class Brian Laudrup was world class

Your Four Lads Had A Dream blog is incredibly popular. When did you begin writing about Rangers and why?

I started writing because I’ve always enjoyed chatting about our club. There seemed a real void of a Rangers type blog and I thought I’d give it a try.

Because it was positive I think people liked it especially when times weren’t so great. But to have had millions of reads I’m humbly thankful to everyone who has read it.

Which player is your tip to make a big splash this year?

Kemar Roofe. He had a good year in terms of numbers but consistently he was indifferent. I fancy a lot more from him and to finish top scorer at the club with 25+ goals.

Who is the youth player you're most excited by?

Nathan Patterson is the answer really but if we consider he’s now a first team player then Stephen Kelly or Leon King are the next big things at Rangers.

How do you rate 55 in the pantheon of great Rangers titles?

Well it’s certainly the most important and biggest for many reasons not less because it had been far too long away from the club.

But every title is important and the next one will be more so, with Champions League qualification, in that specific moment.

55 was wonderful but it’s consigned to history now, it’s all about the next one.

How can Rangers improve on last year?

Retain the league and a stronger performance in the domestic cup competitions.  Champions League qualification remains the dream scenario both for prestige and finances.

For many the return of the Champions League music will signal the real end of a long journey.

It’s important we don’t stand still, this is Rangers after all.
