Rangers have trolled rivals Celtic following their Champions League exit at the first hurdle.

The Hoops lost 3-2 on aggregate to Midtjylland despite having plenty of opportunities to knock their rivals out of the competition over the two legs.

Liel Abada netted in the draw last week and Callum McGregor bagged a wonder-goal last night but it was not enough and Ange Postecoglou's men will now have to settle for the Europa League - though they still have qualifiers to manoeuvre through there, too.

But this morning, Gers' social media team couldn't resist aiming a pop at their foes in their 'Goal of the Day' feature.

They shared a clip of Scott Arfield scoring against Midtjylland back in 2019 when the Light Blues dispatched of the Danes 4-2 on the night in Denmark, and 7-3 on aggregate.

Fans loved the wind-up and praised their side, with the rewind racking up more than 12,000 combined likes and shares.

Celts now face Jablonec in their Europa League qualifying while Rangers square-off with Malmo as they bid to reach the Champions League group stage.
