JUNINHO BACUNA is determined to make up for lost time at Ibrox after finally clinching a move to Rangers from Huddersfield.

The midfielder has become the third signing of the summer for boss Steven Gerrard and follows Fashion Sakala and John Lundstram in putting pen-to-paper with the champions.

Gerrard and Ross Wilson, the Rangers sporting director, have tracked Bacuna for some time and were interested in doing a deal to bring him to Glasgow last season.

The 24-year-old would watch on as Gerrard's side clinched a historic 55th Premiership title and impressed in the Europa League once again.

And now he is eager to play his part in Rangers' Premiership title defence and another European campaign after taking in the play-off clash with Alashkert on Thursday night.

Bacuna told RangersTV: "Rangers is a big club with a lot of history. I know there was interest from last season.

"Unfortunately it didn’t go through. I kept my eye a little bit on Rangers last season and they became champions. It is nice to be part of it now.

"It is great [to be joining a winning team]. It is great that a team like Rangers are interested in you, especially after they became champions.

"To be part of this is nice and it means a lot. I am ready to start going and prove myself and learn from the boys, learn from the manager. I am ready to get started and I can’t wait.

"I had experience in the Premier League and unfortunately it didn’t go like I wanted.

"But I will take the experience from that and bring it here and show what I can do here.

"I am 24-years-old and I am hungry to play. I think the style that the team is going to play will suit me and I think I can be at my best here."
