Champions Rangers returned to their brilliant best in a pulsating 1-0 victory over Celtic at Ibrox.

Filip Helander’s thumping header was the difference in a tight game that stretched Steven Gerrard’s squad's resources to the limit.

The manager, of course, was not in attendance due to Covid protocols but his team did him proud with a performance of fight, vigour and no little tactacal panache.

It’s been a sloppy start to the season so far, but his team have now put that right with a crucial win over their old rivals.

Our man Derek Clark was at a packed Ibrox stadium for the game and he gives his post match verdict from outside the stadium.
