Rangers hero Ally McCoist has admitted that his former side were far from their best as they shared the spoils with Motherwell on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard's side took the lead through a Fashion Sakala goal before the Steelmen equalised on the hour mark through Kaiyne Woolery.

It was a tale of two halves for Rangers who looked bright in the opening period but they stuttered to a lacklustre display in the second 45 minutes.

Reacting to the draw, McCoist told talkSPORT: "Rangers were poor yesterday in that second half.

"Celtic got beaten by Livingston, they're on a struggle away from home but I can't comment on that game because I didn't see it.

"Rangers were disappointing second half.

"In fact I'll be brutally honest with you: Motherwell, without being brilliant, looked as though they could have scored just as much as Rangers could have scored in the second half.

"It's definitely two points dropped, credit to Motherwell who made it very, very difficult and as I say could have easily nicked one just as much as Rangers could have second half."
