RANGERS striker Fashion Sakala scored a fantastic opening goal in Zambia's World Cup qualifier against Equitorial Guinea on Sunday evening.

The 24-year-old, who moved to Ibrox on a free transfer from Oostende in Belgium this summer, has one Premiership goal to his name so far this term but was in fine form for his national team at the weekend.

With the game tied at 0-0, Sakala collected the ball on the left wing before driving menacingly at the Equitorial Guinea backline.

The forward skipped past two players, with one opponent dropping to his knees claiming to have been fouled, and slalomed his way past the last defender before slamming the ball home with glee from 12 yards.

Zambia could not hold put for the win though, with Federico Bikoro's 82nd-minute equaliser ensuring a share of the spoils in Group B of Africa's World Cup qualifiers.

The result leaves Zambia in third place with four points in as many games, three adrift of Equatorial Guinea with two fixtures left to play.
