Fashion Sakala has revealed the Rangers advice that led directly to his stunning hat-trick against Motherwell on Sunday.

The Zambian was in electric form, as were his teammates, in the 6-1 win at Fir Park, with the other goals coming from James Tavernier, Glen Kamara and Kemar Roofe.

And Sakala has revealed the clever runs made for two of the three goals came on the back of advice from senior pros Tavernier and Steven Davis.

He told Rangers TV: "These boys have always been there for me, the captain (Tavernier) is always there for me, even in the dressing room and in training.

"This is something that we talked about. He told me I had to be in the box and for the first one I was there so this is good.

"It's always good to listen to experienced players. Davis came to me and said, 'always be in the box and I will find you!'

"He did it. It's always nice to work with great players and people who want you to keep going higher and higher."
