STEVEN GERRARD this morning finalised his move to Aston Villa, leaving his role as Rangers manager for the lure of the Premier League.

The former Ibrox boss will now attempt to guide Villa to safety as they currently sit 16th in the table just two points above Burnley in 18th.

And it's expected Gerrard will be given funds to bolster his squad in January as the club aim to transform their fortunes after sacking Dean Smith.

Gerrard made his fair share of successful signings at Ibrox and his close relationship with Villa CEO Christian Purslow could allow him to spend big in the window.

With that in mind, we look at five players Gerrard could look to sign for Villa from Rangers.

Ryan Kent

The winger, 25, was Gerrard's most expensive signing at Rangers, shelling out around £7million to take him to Ibrox from Liverpool.

And it wouldn't be surprising to see Gerrard keen to link up with Kent again in the Premier League.

Kent has previously been touted for a move to the English top-flight with Leeds reportedly interested in signing the attacker.

James Tavernier

The Rangers captain has been an integral part to Gerrard's success at the club.

The free-scoring full-back is often criticised over his defensive ability but produces vital assists from the flanks and has scored a load from the spot for the Govan outfit.

Gerrard stuck with Tavernier at right-back despite Nathan Patterson pushing for a first-team spot - and he might look into taking either flying full-back to England to join him.

Joe Aribo

Another of Gerrard's bargain pieces of business was snatching Aribo from Charlton for a measly development fee.

The midfielder was a key man for Gerrard at Ibrox playing both in the middle and on the wing.

He's still only 25 and now a fully fledged member of the Nigeria set-up.

Connor Goldson

A centre-back with Premier League experience and a "valuable" player for Gerrard at Rangers.

Goldson, 28, is yet to sign a new deal at Ibrox with his current contract up in the summer.

Gerrard appeared to use Goldson as his first-choice central defender, and he could be on his radar to bolster his ranks at Villa.

Glen Kamara

No surprises with this one - however the Finland international is under contract until 2025 after penning fresh terms in September.

Widely regarded as one of the best pieces of transfer business during Gerrard's reign, Kamara cost just £50,000 from Dundee.

But he's sure to cost a lot more if Gerrard was to try and tempt him to head down south.

Kamara has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent years with Newcastle, Brentford, Watford and Arsenal all linked with the midfielder.
