NEW Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst is expected to attend Sunday's Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Hibs - but he won't be in the dugout.

The Dutchman, officially announced as the new manager this evening, will be in the stands for the cup clash but Ross Wilson revealed he won't take charge of the team.

The sporting director told RangersTV: "They can expect to see him in Glasgow soon, although I won't put a date on that.

"He will be in the dugout soon. He won't be in the dugout at Hampden but we expect him to be at the game. He's excited for the game."

Instead, Rangers will be led by B team management team David McCallum and Brian Gilmour.

They'll be assisted by Jermaine Defoe, Colin Stewart and Craig Flanagan for the Hampden showdown.

"In terms of Sunday we will have David McCallum there, we will have Brian Gilmour there who have been working with our B team and doing a wonderful job.

"Jermaine Defoe is with us, Colin Stewart is with us and Craig Flanagan from the fitness side. And Dr Mark Waller from the medical side.

"We have got great people at Rangers and those will be the people involved."
