What did you make of today’s game?

The most important thing is the win and taking the three points with us back to Ibrox.

We started the game really well and were 2-0 up after the first 25 minutes which was good. In the last 15 minutes of the first half we didn’t keep the intention of the play, the speed of play and our position on the pitch so we made it a little bit easier for Livingston to come back into the game at 2-1. The second half was really controlled, we didn’t give a single chance away but when it’s 2-1 you need to score the third goal. We did, a great goal by Sakala with a header and after that, we controlled it even more. We kept the ball and held our positions to make it very difficult for them to press us.

Was that the key message at half-time to go and get the third goal?

Yes, it was. The key message was be more secure in our passing because we lost the ball too easily at times and we gave transition moments to Livingston. We did much better in the second half and kept positive with the idea to go and win the second half as if it was 0-0.

The midfielders Aribo and Arfield got forward to get goals, is that something we can expect more of going forward?

Of course, depending on the opposition. Scott did really well when he started today because we needed runs into the spaces. We knew when the timing was there we could create a lot of danger and getting the first goal was excellent.

There was a lot of nice football today but you will be pleased you scored from a set piece?

Set pieces are really important because if you take them well it gives you a good chance to score and so we saw a great run by Scott for the first goal. In the second the build-up was really good, a lot of speed passing movement and of course a great shot into the top corner so I’m very pleased with the performance of the whole team.

And preparation now turns to Hibs?

It’s the same. You only have two days off in between games with the game on Wednesday and we need to recover tomorrow and to keep everyone fresh. On Tuesday we will work on our tactical plan to play against Hibs and try and make a good result there as well.
