It’s no doubt been an interesting few days after the speculation in the press linking you to Manchester United and Newcastle. Have they been in touch with you directly, or your agent or the club?

I’m just focusing on my football here. I don’t really take any interest in what goes on outside this building and outside these gates.

In terms of your own development, can you almost taste getting into the first team regularly?

That’s what I’m aiming for. With the new boss coming in I’ve seen at his previous clubs he’s given youngsters a chance so that’s what I’m striving towards. Getting there and training with the first team when he came in was good and I’m aiming to get there more regularly.

How do you prepare yourself for working with the first team? Are you regularly getting asked to train with them?

Quite a lot of the boys do get a chance to go in and train, it’s just who the boss wants each morning to be honest with you.

How have you found the quality of the teams you have been up against in the Lowland League?

Every team creates a different challenge for us. Some weeks we will go and teams will be really direct, sometimes they will sit off. So it’s just us maintaining our game plan and if we do that we will be comfortable in each game.

Have you found the UEFA Youth League a test?

It’s a test but it’s a good test. It’s a test I think we need, to be in so many different competitions it’s good for us but obviously going abroad you will get a different team to what we are playing here. So it was a different challenge when we went over to Hammarby. Unfortunately, I got injured in that game but it was good we won over the two legs.

You’re up against Cove Rangers in the next game who are two divisions above the team. Have you had a chance to look at them or do you concentrate on your own game?

Our prep is always top. I think it’s more a sole focus on ourselves than what we can do to stop them.

Rangers B visit Cove on Tuesday in their SPFL Trust Trophy match. Kick-off is at 7.45.
