ALLAN McGREGOR: A virtual spectator for much of the game although he displayed poor distribution from a Barisic pass on seven minutes, kicking straight into touch and a poor throw to Kamara put the Finn in danger on 62 minutes, he was dispossessed but fortunately the resulting shot was deflected wide. Comical moment in stoppage time when the ball hit the inside of the post before hitting McGregor’s chest and spinning towards the goal, fortunately it spun just outside the post and out for a corner. 6

JAMES TAVERNIER: Defensively never had a great deal to contend with. As ever, the skipper was always looking to get involved going forward. Fired a curling free kick on 14 minutes that flew straight into the arms of Legzdins. 7

CONNOR GOLDSON: Powerful header from a corner tipped away by Legzdins on 27 minutes. Defensively he and Bassey were largely untroubled and strolled through the game. 7

CALVIN BASSEY: Another solid display from the big likeable 21-year-old who is growing in confidence with each game. Offensively he saw a fizzing shot tipped away by Legzdins on 50 minutes. A stroll in the park. 7

BORNA BARISIC: One of the players who has looked vastly improved since the arrival of Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Fantastic delivery from a corner on 15 minutes that was crying out for a header in the penalty box. Good defensive work to deny Kerr a cross into the box on 20 minutes. Forced Legzdins into a save on 25 minutes with a long range strike. Great pass down the line to Aribo on 31 minutes to whip in a teasing cross. Dealt with anything that came his way defensively. 7

GLEN KAMARA: Played a sloppy pass inside to McCowan on 26 minutes that led to a rare Dundee attack and put in a spot of bother by McGregor on 62 minutes but otherwise he was his usual reliable and economical self. 7

SCOTT ARFIELD: Back in the side in place of Steven Davis. Had a curling effort from distance but flew wide of Ledgzdins right hand post on 19 minutes. Missed a glorious chance to open the scoring on 27 minutes when played in but elected to cut the ball back which was knocked behind for a corner by a Dundee defender. Saw a shot that looked goalbound blocked as Rangers pressed for their second. Involved in much of Rangers play going forward. 7

JOE ARIBO: Great feet to bamboozle Elliot on the left hand side before whipping in a teasing cross but no takers on 10 minutes. Should’ve done better when he met a Barisic free kick on 29 minutes but managed to head wide from close range. Moved over to the right hand side in a switch that resulted in the opening goal on 36 minutes, the former Charlton man cut inside onto his left foot, feigned to shot before moving centrally and firing a shot at goal that flew into the back of the net thanks to a deflection. Great control to take down a powerful Bassey header and set up an attacking move on 48 minutes. Provided the second goal with a tantalising cross into the danger area that was turned into his own net by the despairing Sweeney on 55 minutes. Another terrific display, rightly named Man of the Match and given a rousing ovation when replaced by Bacuna on 83 minutes. 8

IANIS HAGI: Switched into a more central role momentarily midway through the first half and looked more threatening, took the ball inside on 23 minutes before striding forward and firing a shot on goal but the Romanian dragged it wide. An otherwise quiet afternoon and replaced by Wright on 65 minutes. 6

FASHION SAKALA: Occupied the left hand forward position in place of Ryan Kent and put in an impressive performance. Fantastic skill to beat Fontaine and set himself for what looked like a certain goal on 11 minutes but the Zambian lashed his show wide of Legzdins right hand post. Great touch to beat Elliot on 13 minutes before the Dundee man took the legs away from him around 30 yards from goal. Deflected shot on 15 minutes after finding the space as he cut inside past two Dundee players. Almost opened the scoring on 16 minutes after a turnover in possession the edge of the Dark Blues box, Morelos played him in but he dragged his shot wide. Forced a brilliant save out of Legzdins on 24 minutes with a left footed effort from the edge of the penalty area. Was bandaged up a la Dado Prso style on 38 minutes after a head clash with Kerr. Great run, twisting Kerr inside and out before unleashing a powerful shot on goal that was tipped away by Legzdins for a corner on 52 minutes. Lively as ever and unfortunate not crown his display with a goal. 8

ALFREDO MORELOS: A mixed performance from El Bufalo. Started the game well by playing a perfectly weighted pass with the outside of the boot to Sakala on two minutes. Needlessly gave the ball away to McCowan three minutes later. Set up a decent Sakala chance on 16 minutes by winning possession on the edge of the Dundee 18-yard box. Missed two glorious chances before half time, the Colombian should’ve doubled Rangers lead on 43 minutes when through on goal but fired straight at Legzdins and then did likewise shortly after when Sakala laid the ball on a plate to him.

Looked much improved in the second half and forced a near post save out of Legzdins on 50 minutes. Cautioned seven minutes later for getting involved after a poor challenge from Griffiths sparked a melee. Great chest control to release Wright on 67 minutes who embarked on a run before being eventually crowded out. Bulldozed his way through the Dundee backline before slotting home the third goal on 70 minutes and almost netted his second when he met a Tavernier corner but his header was cleared off the line on 80 minutes. 8

Substitutes

SCOTT WRIGHT: Replaced Hagi on 65 minutes and made an almost immediate impact as he skinned Marshall and bombed down the right hand flank getting to the byline before being outmuscled. Looked a lot more threatening down the right side, causing the Dundee defence all sorts of problems and delivered some decent balls into the danger area. 6

RYAN JACK: Received a terrific reception from the Ibrox crowd when he replaced Kamara on 73 minutes. 4

JUNINHO BACUNA: Replaced Aribo on 83 minutes, not much time to make an impression. 4
