When did you realise you were coming on?

It was not until Ianis [Hagi] went down, then I went and got warmed up with Scott Wright and I thought maybe he would go on. Then I saw Dave and Flanny shout me over and I was just buzzing to get on the pitch and play.

It was a big crowd to make your debut in front of?

When I was sitting on the bench I was talking to Calvin Bassey just saying, this is crazy it just looks so daunting. And then as I went onto the pitch I started to relax and play my own game. The players were brilliant with me and gave me all the confidence I needed.

What were your instructions coming on?

It was mainly to play my own game, I’ve been playing week in week out in the lowland league, a similar game to the way I played tonight. It was just 'go and play your own game'.

How important has playing in the lowland league been in your development?

It’s been really good. Playing against men week in week out is only going to help me for the first team. It has helped me a lot. I’d say the tempo is faster up here but that’s something I can learn in training.

Tonight must be a dream come true?

Yeah, a dream. I came through the door at eight years old and 10 years later I’m making my debut for the first team and scoring.

Has tonight given you a platform for more minutes?

That’s up to the boss, it’s his decision. I’ll try and stay in his eyeline and see what I can do.

What was the instruction when you came on?

I was playing in one of the No.10 positions, it’s a position I’m familiar with.

What can you take from your teammates tonight?

Loads. The players are brilliant with me from as soon as I came on. It’s always a positive when they’re behind me, giving me the confidence to go and play my game and I just tried to show them what I can do.

How important is cup progression?

When you play with Rangers in every game you have to win. It’s the same as the league or whatever competition we’re playing in we want to win.

How important was that composure when you came onto the pitch?

I’m a relaxed kind of guy, nothing fazes me too much but I’ll be honest coming on it was daunting for a few seconds. Then I settled down, get three or four passes and just felt confident to go and play my game.

Are the next few games important to get more minutes?

That’s up to the boss, I’ll do my best to impress him but that’s up to the boss.
