PREMIERSHIP leaders Rangers will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they make the short trip to the home of fierce rivals Celtic tonight.

The Ibrox club hold a slender two point advantage at the summit after being held to a draw by Ross County last weekend.

The signing of Aaron Ramsey has buoyed spirits although the Welshman won't feature at Parkhead.

The decision to keep Allan McGregor in goals is good leadership from van Bronckhorst. If there’s one player in the squad who can let go of mistakes that led to dropped points days earlier it’s the veteran stopper.

Calvin Bassey also made an error in Dingwall but has been near faultless otherwise during his stint at centre-back and should play ahead of Leon Balogun.

Expect to see the line-up to feature a double-pivot, to give some extra defensive security at Parkhead. James Sands is defensively sound and safe on the ball, he could be the option next to Glen Kamara that gives Rangers a stronger structure without the ball.

The front four thereafter picks itself. Kemar Roofe has to play ahead of Cedric Itten and the trio of Amad, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent behind him is quite the attacking unit.

Given the space that will likely be on offer in transition, those three should be given as much attacking license as possible – with the Sands-Kamara axis behind them, a strong support structure can allow them to attack with freedom.

Predicted line-up: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Bassey, Barisic, Sands, Kamara, Amad, Aribo, Kent, Roofe

There is a feeling this game could prove to be pivotal in the race for the title. Rangers have been in indifferent form since returning from the winter break and the momentum certainly lies with Celtic.

Teamwise, don't expect too many alterations from Saturday's disappointing draw with Ross County. Allan McGregor should continue in goal after receiving the full backing from his manager yesterday.  The back four is likely to remain the same despite the timely boost that Leon Balogun is back in contention.

Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo will look to pull the strings in midfield with an attacking trio of Amad Diallo, Ryan Kent and Scott Arfield supporting Kemar Roofe who should replace the misfiring Cedric Itten.

Predicted line-up: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Bassey, Barisic, Kamara, Aribo, Arfield, Kent, Amad, Roofe.
