There's no getting away from it, defeating Hearts is now imperative to retaining the Premiership title.

A limp display against Celtic must result in some casualties. Borna Barisic, Scott Arfield, Amad Diallo and Kemar Roofe will all drop to the bench as others step up to the plate.

Aaron Ramsey's prognosis was positive according to the manager and a player of his quality has to be introduced as a matter of urgency. He simply must start.

Rangers must ensure they win the fight against a confident Jambo side who are romping to third place. That means a more aggressive midfield with Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara ensuring there is bite to go with the guile.

To make way for Ramsay, Joe Aribo moves to the right-flank with the instruction to drop inside and cause havoc while James Tavernier can own the right, adding his attacking threat.

Alfredo Morelos' return is a no-brainer given how ineffectual Kemar Roofe has been and the Colombian should be hungry for some minutes after a disappointing spell away with his national team where he failed to even make squads.

Predicted line-up: McGregor, Bassey, Tavernier, Balogun Goldson, Jack, Kamara, Ramsey, Kent, Aribo, Morelos

Rangers need a positive response following Wednesday night’s disastrous Old Firm showing. Giovanni van Bronckhorst suggested there may be a number of alterations to the starting XI and, given their recent showing, there simply has to be.

Allan McGregor should retain his place between the sticks with Leon Balogun partnering Connor Goldson and James Tavernier and Calvin Bassey on either flank.

With Ryan Jack returning to action, expect to see him sit in front of the back four, supported by Joe Aribo and Scott Arfield. Expect to see Aaron Ramsey at some point in the game, probably from the bench.

The front three is likely to see Alfredo Morelos lead the line with Fashion Sakala and Ryan Kent on either side.

Predicted line-up: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Bassey, Jack, Arfield, Aribo, Kent, Sakala, Morelos.
