Everything the Rangers manager said to Rangers TV after an easy victory over Hibs at Ibrox.

What were your thoughts on the performance?

Well, good. We started again really well with the penalty but we also created some chances. We put a lot of energy in the game and a lot of pressure. We won a lot of balls in their half, especially in the first half. Overall, the performance was really good, 2-0, we created a lot of chances and could have scored more but it was very good for us because we needed the points.

How was it to continue the form from the Hearts game in another tough game?

Of course, it gives you confidence, we had to react on Sunday which we did in a good manner. For us it was very important to continue that way of playing and the intensity we want to have in games so we have to raise our standards every game and this is the level we want. Now we rest to play on Saturday in the cup.

What’s been the main influence behind Alfredo Morelos’ form in the last two games?

We know he’s a threat in front of goal and he’s scored three in the two games he’s been back. Also, you can see we can play through him, especially when teams are putting a lot of pressure on our defence and he’s always available to connect with the midfield and receive the balls, we can switch our play through him and our wingers can receive the ball in spaces they can attack defenders. Especially today with Ryan and the penalty came from that area. I think the threat today came from the sides and that really pleased me.

How important is it to maintain clean sheets?

It’s always important for the confidence of the defence. Our foundation is to keep the zero because we know in every game we will create chances and we saw today there were moments we had to defend, especially in the last five minutes with some corner kicks and a great shot from distance Allan saved. I’m really pleased for him and us we kept a clean sheet and got the three points.

What happened with Leon Balogun coming off?

I don’t know what the issue is. He couldn’t continue so we have to assess him tomorrow. For him it’s been a difficult time being away through injury and given he’s just come back we hope it’s not serious but we have to wait and see.

It's another big game at the weekend. Is it a chance to give game time to fringe players?

Yes. We have the possibility to rotate now. We have a big squad with a lot of players coming back from long term and short term injuries so it’s a good moment to give minutes to players who haven’t played a lot. But this is always with the intention of winning the game and to make sure we are in the draw for the next round.
