Gheorghe Hagi has given an update on Ianis Hagi’s recovery from injury.
The legendary Romania captain has insisted his son is in good spirits but outlined a total period of eight months for the creative star to get back to his best.
The younger Hagi was injured in the Scottish Cup tie against Stirling Albion back in January.
He said: "Ianis is good. He's very focused on his recovery. He knows he was unlucky.
"He will learn from this and it will make him stronger. It's part of the game and the risk we all take as footballers.
"It happened at a bad time for him and even though he will be out for six months, he is in good spirits.
"He's doing a post-operative rehabilitation program with Rangers and he will be as good as new when he recovers.
"He's confident of a full recovery and I can tell you he's much stronger than I was when I was injured. He is 100 per cent professional.
"But although he will want to play immediately, he will need time to get back to his previous form.
"At Rangers, he has people who love him and care for him.
"But once he returns you have to give him two months to get back to top form I think."
