GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST doesn't fully trust his Rangers squad.

That's the view of former Ibrox hero Kris Boyd.

Rangers beat St Johnstone 1-0 on Wednesday night to remain in the title race with Celtic, with the gap at the summit of the Premiership still just three points.

Despite the Light Blues team looking tired, van Bronckhorst opted against making any substitutes in the narrow win.

And that has led Boyd to think there will be big changes coming to the first team in the summer.

Boyd told Sky Sports: "No he didn't, and he only made one at the weekend.

"I don't really think Giovanni van Bronckhorst trusts his squad. I think when you look at the European games, and the effort put in during the games against Borussia Dortmund there wasn't many changes as well.

"I don't know, you look at Borna Barisic; he plays a lot of games and then he doesn't find himself in.

"Leon Balogun comes back in, Calvin Bassey goes back there, Glen Kamara comes back and Ryan Jack comes back in. Steven Davis, where is he? So there is not really a lot of changes from the manager.

"You kind of get the feeling that if you want that opportunity, it's not really coming for the Rangers players.

"I think that the ones have got the jersey, if they keep performing, there is a reluctance to change it. It maybe tells us there might be an overhaul to come in the summer.

"I think the last few games have told us he doesn't trust a squad a lot."
