GIOVANNI VAN BRONCKHORST has vowed to give Rangers fans another reason to celebrate after their Hampden heroics against Celtic.

The champions came from behind to see off their Old Firm rivals and book their place in the Scottish Cup final with a thrilling victory on Sunday.

Scott Arfield cancelled out Greg Taylor's opener before Carl Starfelt - under pressure from Fashion Sakala - converted into his own net from a Calvin Bassey cross.

Rangers will now face Hearts in the showpiece finale at the National Stadium next month as Van Bronckhorst looks to deliver his first silverware as boss.

And the Dutchman was delighted to see what the win meant to everyone associated with the club after ending a high-stakes week with two hugely significant and impressive wins.

Van Bronckhorst said: “It’s a proud moment. Of course I won two cups here in my career as a player but if you have these moments as a coach you are more proud because you are responsible for the result.

"When a team is not playing well you are also the one who is looked at. But in these moments as well.

"It is a proud moment for me to come back here next month and play the cup final against Hearts. It’s a good game to finish the season but, again, the final is only nice when you win it.

“It has been amazing. If you play in Old Firm games with 50-50 the crowds are amazing, especially our crowd.

"We went behind and they pushed us to keep going and try to force the equaliser. You can see the emotion with the winning goal from Sakala and the whole stand behind the goal celebrating like crazy.

"For the those moments you are a player, a coach, a media guy, a physio, a doctor… if you see the celebrations we celebrated as a whole, as a club.

"These moments are meant to be for celebrating with each other. But we have to do it again in a month.”
