GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst has revealed 'anything can happen' as he was quizzed over Rangers transfer business after a Champions League return was secured.

The Ibrox boss guided his side back to the group stages of the top European competition with a 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Antonio Colak's simple tap-in from Malik Tillman's pass ensured Rangers will be in tomorrow's draw for the Champions League group stage.

And Van Bronckhorst was quizzed on whether the return to elite European competition will impact his transfer plans before the summer window shuts.

The Dutchman admitted the increased income from Champions League football will impact the club but was coy over his transfer dealings.

Speaking on BT Sport, Van Bronckhorst said: "Of course it will impact us.

"As a player and a coach, you’re only thinking about competing with the best teams in Europe. We have the opportunity to do so.

"There’s many positives to take from this game. I think the club and the board are also happy that we get financial opportunities.

"We always have good communication in how to spend the money."

Pushed on whether any new faces will be joining the Rangers squad before the window shuts, Van Bronckhorst added: "I don’t know. I’ve said before that anything can happen in the next seven days. But we have to be prepared. "
