EX-RANGERS ace Nathan Patterson has urged a singer to ditch his Celtic connection as he gave an Everton fan chant the seal of approval.

Scotland international Patterson, 20, has impressed in recent weeks for Everton in the Premier League after his January move down south.

The right-back made the move from Ibrox to Goodison Park as Rangers received a then club-record fee. The record has since been smashed by Calvin Bassey's transfer to Ajax.

Patterson saw limited game time last season after the move but has established himself in the first-team under Frank Lampard this season with a string of impressive displays.

And Everton fans have loved what they've seen from the defender so far and now have a signature chant for the defender to the tune of Super-Hi and Neeka's Following the Sun.

Everton fans chant: "If you're looking for a right-back, we've got a Glaswegian? Nathan Patterson.

"Somewhere running up that right wing, you can hear the Blues sing, Nathan Patterson."

And after the chant was belted out by Everton fans, singer Ryan Rooney performed the tune as he shared a clip on Twitter.

Patterson responded giving the thumbs up to the song, but urged the singer to ditch a couple of Celtic stickers visible on his guitar.

A celebration snap and a Celtic badge could be seen on the performer's guitar as he sang the fan chant.

Sharing the clip on Twitter, Patterson commented: "Love it mate but sort those bottom two stickers out! 👀💙"
