TURKISH giants Galatasaray are reportedly plotting a January move for Rangers' Ridvan Yilmaz.

The full-back only signed for Rangers in the summer in a £5.5million move from Besiktas.

But it's claimed Galatasaray chiefs have identified Yilmaz as a possible option in January.

Turkish outlet Takvim report that Yilmaz is being viewed by Galatasaray as they consider a loan approach in the coming months.

The report suggests Yilmaz has "no intention" of leaving Rangers but adds that a lack of game time could lead to a loan switch.

The defender has only played four times for Rangers this season since his move in the summer.

Borna Barisic has remained Giovanni van Bronckhorst's first-choice at left-back this season.

And Ross Wilson defended the slow start for Yilmaz at Ibrox as he insisted he'll grow into life at Rangers.

He told the Times: “He was highly coveted by many European clubs, a young man we’re excited about, who we signed on a five-year contract and we’re committed to for five years not five weeks.

"The manager, the man who picks the team, has been happy with the performance of Borna Barisic, our Croatian [international] left back.

"But we’re really happy with Ridvan and he’ll do well over the course for Rangers.”
