GIOVANNI van Bronckhorst has revealed he is expecting to be without Ridvan Yilmaz for a couple of weeks as he admitted he's unsure over Ben Davies' fitness.

The Ibrox manager watched Yilmaz hobble off in the 4-1 win over Aberdeen after just eight minutes with a hamstring problem.

Van Bronckhorst then decided to take Davies off at the break after he played through a niggle in the first 45 minutes at Ibrox.

Now, the Rangers boss has confirmed Yilmaz is expected to miss a "couple of weeks" through injury but was unable to put a timeline on Davies before medical checks.

Van Bronckhorst said: "Well, Ridvan of course at the moment in the first ten minutes I think, we had to get him off because he felt his hamstring.

"Ben already had a moment in the beginning of the game but could play on.

"But I didn't want to take any risk with him, so we have to assess him tomorrow to see how he feels."

Pushed on possible return timelines for the duo on BBC Scotland, Van Bronckhorst added: "I don't know yet. I think we will have Ridvan out for a couple of weeks but for Ben I still don't know."

The Ibrox boss is already without Filip Helander, John Souttar and Connor Goldson with the defensive unit savaged by injury.

Ryan Jack, Tom Lawrence and Ianis Hagi are also currently sidelined with injury problems.
