BORNA BARISIC has confirmed he is not struggling with injury ahead of the World Cup with Croatia.

The full-back is headed to Qatar to represent his country this month and warmed up with his national side team-mates in a win over Saudi Arabia.

However there was slight concern over an injury to Barisic in the 1-0 win. But Barisic insists he's fully fit and ready for action in Qatar.

After the match, he told HRT: "There is no injury. The most important thing (from the game) is that no one was injured and that we won because of self-confidence."

Despite the victory, Barisic insisted the performance wasn't up to scratch for Croatia who begin their World Cup group next Wednesday.

Andrej Kramaric scored the only goal for Croatia in the win over Saudi Arabia, and Barisic reckons while there were positives in battling to a win, his nation must improve.

Croatia kick-off their World Cup campaign against Morocco with Canda and Belgium also in Group F.

Discussing the final friendly before the World Cup begins, Barisic commented: "It wasn't easy, it's good that we won in the end. The conditions were difficult.

"It's good to prepare for Morocco and get used to it. However, we didn't look good, the conditions were difficult, but the most important thing is that we won."

Meanwhile, Alan Huttton has claimed Michael Beale would "seriously" consider a return to Rangers should Giovanni van Bronckhorst be sacked at Ibrox.

He explained that Beale could be lured back to Glasgow to take the top job at Ibrox having become a well-liked face after his spell assisting Steven Gerrard.

Hutton told Football Insider: “Rangers is somewhere he knows, he knows most of the players. He has been used to that winning mentality when he has been there so I think it is something he would think long and hard about.

“It is maybe worth that change especially when you think of the European adventures. So I think it is something he would definitely seriously think about.“
