Aaron Ramsey has been nominated for the dreaded Italian Golden Bin award for the second successive season.

Italian radio show Catersport kickstarted the trend back between 2003 and 2012 to find the worst-performing Serie A player of the calendar year.

Over the years the award has become a major event with top broadcasters and newspapers covering the results.

Ramsey was (un)lucky enough to collect the award last season after spending part of the campaign in Glasgow with Rangers, while on loan from Juventus.

The Welshman struggled with injuries before ultimately missing the decisive penalty in the Europa League final against Frankfurt.

He did bounce back, however, as just days later Rangers went on to lift the Scottish Cup against Hearts at Hampden Park.

Ramsey then left Rangers at the end of the season and returned to his parent club before his contract was ultimately terminated.

Now a jury of ten have decided Ramsey should be in the running for the 2022 edition of the Bidone d’Oro Award.

The former Arsenal man headed for French outfit Nice in the summer after his contract was ended in Italy.

The World Cup also did not go to plan for Ramsey as Wales crashed out in the group stages following defeats to both Iran and England, with a draw against the USA the highlight.

Ramsey's former teammate Arthur Melo is also named on the shortlist after a failed loan move to Liverpool has seen him feature just once off the bench.
