Every word Michael Beale had to say to the BBC after victory over Dundee United at Ibrox...

Michael, how pleased were you with that result and performance today?

“Delighted with the result, the performance in moments was really, really, good. I would just wish we'd score more goals when the chances come and I think that's a mixture of good goalkeeping and being slightly unlucky today.

“Ryan Kent would have scored one of the goals of the season. I think if it wasn’t for the bar. So you come here today after two weeks off and you want to see some things for your team. And I saw what I needed to see.”

Tillman grabbed two of the goals. He'll grab a lot of the headlines, but it looks like he's kind of getting back to what he promised and showed at the start of the season?

“Yeah and when Todd Cantwell and Nico Raskin come in and you're thinking you'd pair them with someone like Malik and Ryan Kent and it would be exciting. It seems to have been elusive.

“They've not all been fit at the same time, but today you had Todd and Ryan and Malik. And in some moments I thought they were fantastic today against a really stubborn Dundee United team that were well-drilled and tried to make it hard for us.

“I think over the 90 minutes those three probably showed enough quality to open the door. Today it was Malik that scored and he has got a knack for that, which is a really good thing to have in your game, but I thought the other two contributed as well.”

The link up play with the three players you mentioned there at times, was really nice, really lively, wasn't it? And Cantwell, especially looks like he is forming a really good relationship with Tillman?

“Yeah it's important that Todd keeps getting his assists and he got a goal last time out and an assist before that. It is something we're on about for him.

“The platform behind allows you to get high so we try to play on the front foot and today there's a lot of pleasing signs. We're on a strong run of form, if you like.

“It was good to get a clean sheet. And if every week I'm just nitpicking that we could take one or two more chances, I think we're in a good place.”

Is it a sign of frustration as well? I think it was seven shots on target today. You're creating plenty, but maybe just don't have that final moment?

“Yeah. Listen, it was another 28 shots today and you're getting 7 on target. And I think that that's an area as a team we're creating a lot but we need to be more ruthless.

“We may need to recruit that in as well, so that's an eye opener for one or two, because these chances that we're creating, if we take them then obviously it will push us towards where we want to go.”

And in terms of Allan McGregor we spoke about it pre match didn't we, but that is 500 appearances for Rangers today and a clean sheet.

“Listen, we just did a little presentation to him in there. It's a special day for him and his family.

“Yeah, I think, you know, like any young boy that comes into the Academy like he did many years ago to make a debut is a big thing.

“So to play 500, win everything, play for your country as well. He's had a wonderful, wonderful career.”

You head to Celtic next week is there a feeling that this is the kind of last chance in terms of the title?

“I think it's a great game, you know, we're going away with no fans.

“It's a great game where everyone knows where the position is in the league table.

“We'll just take care of that and then after that, it will move the goal posts a little bit one way or another, but the form both teams are in, you'd have to say it would only move it a little bit either way.”
