Here's everything John Lundstram had to say when facing the media ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League qualifier against Servette at Ibrox.

Thoughts on Servette challenge?

I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be a tough test, we’ve anaylsed them and they are a good team. It will be tough for them coming to Ibrox, so it should be a good game.

How have you prepared for the game?

Just the same as we do for every team - watching clips of their strengths and weaknesses. They are a high-energy team that like to press and get the ball forward quickly. We will try to exploit their weaknesses and I’m sure they’ll try to do the same to us.

Did you watch the Genk game? They were really resilient with ten men…

They were fantastic and done really well to get through the tie, especially in the second game when they had ten-men. We are fully aware of the challenge and the resilience, team spirit and quality in possession that they have. We are under no illusions that it will be a tough game.

Are you looking to establish a big lead at home, like three or four nil?

Four nil would be great! We are Rangers and we go into every single game to win. We play teams to win and that’s the way of a Ranger.

Are you favourites for the game?

I’m not a bookmaker, so I don’t know the odds. We are going into the game to get a good result for the fans and ourselves to put us in good place for next week.

How important are these qualifiers?

It’s huge. Everyone seen how it stood us last year getting into the Champions League. It’s massive for the club and for players because it’s the games that you dream of playing as a youngster. It’s hugely important that we put in a good performance.

How do the existing players prepare the new arrivals for the pressures of these games?

The new boys have all played in big games. The gaffer has brought in top quality players and they’ve all played in huge games. It doesn’t require a pep talk from me to tell these players about how huge these games are. They know what’s expected of them coming to Rangers and hopefully, they can help us as well.

Do you feel a pressure around this time of the season because of these big games?

Yeah, they are pressured games and Servette will want to qualify for the Champions League as much as we do. It’s a huge game for us, as it is every year when we want to qualify.

What needs to be different from Saturday?

It will be a completely different challenge. It was a tough game on Saturday with a completely different way of playing for both teams. It will be interesting to see how they set-up, whether they sit off like Killie or come and press us. We need to play with more intensity and try to penetrate the lines more if they do sit off us.

Is there a confidence that the new players can settle in quickly?

Yeah, one hundred percent. There’s no recipe for success overnight. We’ve had one game and we’ve lost but I’ve no illusions that it will click and we will gel.

Do you feel the squad has improved from last season?

Yeah, I think the gaffer has brought in same great players and lads around the dressing room. We lost some big characters in the dressing room. You don’t get to see it but the new guys have been great and hopefully they settle quickly.

Is it a tough balance to strike between the new players gelling in and the important games?

It’s tough to join any club in the world and hit the ground running. If the lads can do that then great, but at the same time we need to start quickly.

Is tomorrow a great stage for the new players to make their mark?

Yeah, it can be. We’ve said how big a game it is and if you can get yourself on the scoresheet then you can become a fans’ favourite straight away. That would be nice and hopefully the new lads can do that.

This is a club where signings don’t get time to gel, has that been pressed onto the new players?

You don’t do over to a player and tell that to them but I’m sure they know the history and have done their due diligence on Rangers football club. They will know how much pressure there is to perform and win. People pay to watch us every week and it’s a big, passionate fanbase that gets us over the line in many games, but you’re also under the microscope.

How important is to show a reaction from Saturday and get the crowd behind you?

Yeah, the European nights are massive nights for Rangers. Hopefully the fans can give us another big night tomorrow and we can back it up with a performance. We need to give them something to sing about and on the front foot. We need to lift them off their seats early doors and make it another special European night.

Are these European nights your favourite memories from your time at Ibrox?

The run (to Seville) was great but the memories of the Champions League weren’t so great. We didn’t perform quite as well as we wanted to and we want to try to correct that. We want to make a better show of ourselves and we really, really want to qualify.

How much is it a drive is it for the players from last year to get back to that stage?

It is for me personally. I’m sure it’s the same for the other lads because it’s not nice when you know that you didn’t perform to the level that you’re capable of. We know that we can do better and hopefully we can do this year, if we qualify for the group stages.

The full focus is on the Champions League despite the safety net of the Europa League?

Yeah of course. There’s not even been a word spoken on that and the full focus is on the game tomorrow. It’s literally not even been spoken about it.
