Alfredo Morelos has been touted to make Santos millions if he can return to his best with the Brazilian giants.

The former Rangers frontman was snapped up last week after months of searching for a new club following his Ibrox exit at the end of the season.

Morelos was far from in-form when he left Glasgow, but Santos technical director Alexandre Gallo is confident that he will come good at his new club.

And Gallo also feels that he could be in store for a European transfer return if he can start banging in the goals again.

Speaking at the unveiling of the frontman, Gallo said: "We are very happy (with Morelos' arrival). If he performs the way he has been performing recently, it will be a very important future dividend for the club.

"Santos hold a large part of his sporting rights. He had interest from big clubs in Europe and if he reaches a high level I believe clubs will be interested again. He is young and has incredible numbers."

Morelos' agent Martin Camagno has already been in the press since his transfer to Santos was confirmed suggesting that a January transfer exit could be on the cards.

He told Sport24 earlier this week: "Alfredo will definitely not move to any RPL club in this (summer) transfer window. Everything takes too long.

"We’re sorry it didn’t work out. But all the interested clubs told me they would stay close to him. Perhaps the player’s transfer will happen next winter.”
