Rangers hero Kris Boyd insists new manager Philippe Clement needs time to succeed at Ibrox.

The Belgian signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Light Blues and will meet the first-team squad tomorrow.

Clement becomes the fourth person to take charge of Rangers over the last two years after Michael Beale was sacked earlier this month.

And Boyd has called for "stability". Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "Rangers took their time over the last few weeks to get Clement in and they feel he’s the right man. There’s no doubt there needs to be stability.

"Every time there’s a dip in form there seems to be a crisis. It’s now the fourth manager in two years and it can’t continue.

"Someone has to be given the reigns for a period of time and build the squad and get a successful team back on the pitch because that’s what the fans want.

"They want to see a style of play that attracts them to watch the games. It was touched on earlier, they won a game a couple of weeks ago and were booed off.

"That can’t continue. The feel good factor has to come back to Ibrox, the players need to be welcomed on because if they are going to turn it around they need everyone singing from the same hymn sheet."
